Abstract. Muslim scholars have played a significant role in the development of world science for centuries. Their discoveries and achievements in various fields of knowledge laid the foundation for modern scientific progress. This paper examines the significant contribution of Muslim scholars to the development of world science.
During the Golden Age, Muslim scholars played a key role in the development of various fields of science, including mathematics, astronomy, medicine, chemistry, physics and philosophy. They not only preserved and translated the works of ancient Greek, Indian and Persian scholars, but also significantly developed and improved them, creating the foundation for further achievements of the European Renaissance and modern science.
This article examines the period of the Islamic Golden Age (VIII–XIV centuries), characterized by an unprecedented flourishing of scientific knowledge; analyzes the role of Muslim scholars in the preservation, translation and development of scientific works of previous civilizations; describes the achievements of Muslim scientists in such fields as mathematics, astronomy, medicine, physics, chemistry and engineering: it demonstrates the influence of their work on the further development of science in Europe and around the world.
The purpose of this work is to systematize and analyze the scientific achievements of Muslim scientists, demonstrate their significant contribution to the development of world civilization and overcome stereotypes about science in the Islamic world.
This article is valuable for researchers of the history of science, specialists in the field of natural sciences, and anyone interested in the history of Islamic civilization. We will consider how Muslim scientists enriched the treasury of world science and why their legacy remains relevant today.
