Abstract. The problem discussed in the scientific article «The use of the institution of mediation in family relations as one of the vectors for the development of the social policy of the state» is very relevant. Interest in this topic is due to the fact that the family is the main unit of society, which is understood as an association of people based on consanguinity, marriage or adoption, connected by a common life and mutual responsibility for raising children. That is why the protection of the institution of the family is one of the priorities of the social policy of any state. Unfortunately, at present in our country there are quite a large number of lawsuits in courts related to the dissolution of marriages. In fact, each such process is accompanied by a significant level of conflict between the parties, which cannot but have a negative impact on all participants, including if the conflict is related to the issue of raising minor children. One of the ways to resolve the conflict is the possibility of using the institution of mediation in family relations. In the course of the study, the current situation in this area is analyzed, the points of view of various scientists and specialists in this field of public relations are considered. The researcher’s personal position is expressed regarding the phenomenon under study, his own vision is formulated regarding the further development of the discussion raised. Based on the study, solutions are proposed aimed at optimizing mediation processes in order to involve it more widely in family relations. The article can be useful both for specialists in the field of law and social policy, and for a wide audience interested in discussing the modern challenges of family relations.
