Risks of Internet addiction among teenagers in the context of digitalization

Abstract. Within the framework of this article, the social and other risks that Internet addiction can cause in the adolescent environment in the conditions of increasing digitalization have been studied. The author’s attempt to assess the risks of Internet addiction has been carried out. An analytical analysis of a number of modern publications on the stated issues has been carried out. The conclusions obtained by secondary analysis are systematized and defined into a full-fledged concept of perception. The problems of the dichotomy of the studied issue in the causal relationship of Internet addiction in the adolescent environment and personal characteristics corresponding to this kind of addiction were touched upon. Typological personality characteristics contributing to the formation of Internet addiction in adolescents were identified, and typological personality characteristics formed in adolescents by the risks of Internet addiction were also identified. Within the framework of the studied issues, the risk analysis was carried out from a social point of view, however, the results of studies subject to secondary analysis are a representation of the psychological side of the coverage of this issue. A comprehensive conclusion is presented that systematizes all the results of studies that have been subjected to secondary analysis and all the results of their interpretation. This article is of interest in the framework of the study of disciplines related to pedagogy, psychology and social and social sciences. Analytical conclusions fully reveal the stated problems. The most important aspects related to the risks of Internet addiction in the adolescent environment are touched upon: personal risks, social risks, psychological risks. Considerable attention is paid in the article to the consequences caused by the risks identified in the course of work. The articles considered in the framework of the secondary analysis represent to the greatest extent the psychological and socio-psychological side of the problem, which is fully compensated by the sociological understanding of the author.
