Abstract. This paper examines volunteering as a significant form of social activity of student youth, promoting the development of civic responsibility and personal growth.
The theoretical part of the work examines the key concepts of social activity, its structure and characteristics. Particular attention is paid to the history of the development of volunteering, including its evolution in Uzbekistan, as well as the legal framework governing volunteer activity. The motivational factors that encourage students to volunteer are analyzed in detail: social (the desire for communication and recognition), civic (awareness of social significance), career (acquisition of professional skills) and personal (self-development and self-realization).
The practical part of the study is based on the study of the experience of students of the Uzbek State University of World Languages (UzSUMWL), actively participating in volunteer projects. Among them are conducting educational master classes in schools, organizing environmental campaigns, participating in charity events and supporting socially vulnerable groups.
To study the importance of volunteering among students and the degree of student involvement in volunteer activities, a survey and in-depth interviews with volunteers were conducted, which allowed us to identify the real impact of volunteering on their personal and professional development. The results showed that participation in volunteer initiatives contributes to the development of leadership qualities, teamwork skills, and increases self-confidence.
The work emphasizes the importance of supporting volunteering by universities, government agencies and society as a whole. Volunteer activity is considered an effective tool for educating responsible, proactive and caring citizens who are able to make a significant contribution to the development of society. In conclusion, the study offers recommendations for increasing student involvement in volunteer projects, including the creation of university support programs and the popularization of volunteering among young people.
