Political activity of Russian youth in the context of the spread of information technologies

Abstract. Youth as a socio-demographic group is an important social resource, which in the near future will determine the mechanisms for managing society, develop and direct both domestic and foreign policy of the state. However, experts note the low level of youth confidence in state institutions, as well as the low level of youth involvement in political life. The relevance of the work is due to the instability of ideals, the loss of identity by young people (including the civil one), the change in values in the public and individual consciousness in the context of social changes and socio-political contradictions. The political activity of young people plays an important role in the transformation of the social system. New forms of political participation have emerged that require reflection. Since we live in the era of digitalization, the introduction of digital technologies has become a solution to some of the crisis problems. In connection with the growing role of the Internet in political and public life, the attention of researchers is increasingly turning to a new, online form of political participation. Social media is becoming a way of political participation for citizens not previously involved in political activity. However, the political sphere of society, especially in these conditions, needs to be strengthened and modernized, which is not possible without the active participation of the younger generation. The article discusses the concept, forms and features of the political activity of young people. The activity of young people in the political sphere and its influence on the life of society as a whole is analyzed. And also there is a transformation of political behavior and a change in the forms of political activity.
