Abstract. Nationalism in modern society is a topical and controversial topic that causes a lot of discussion and debate. This article will examine the current state of nationalism in the world, as well as its positive aspects and problems associated with it. The article contains an analysis of the causes of the growth of nationalism and its impact on modern society, including the challenges faced by multicultural societies. The positive aspects of nationalism will also be presented, such as the protection of national culture and civil society. Finally, the article will summarize how nationalism affects modern society and offer possible recommendations for managing nationalism and creating a more inclusive and peaceful society. In modern society, nationalism is one of the most controversial and discussed topics. On the one hand, some supporters of nationalism argue that this principle is a necessary condition for the preservation of cultural and national heritage, as well as for the protection of the interests of the nation. On the other hand, critics of nationalism point out that this principle can lead to national discrimination, racism and xenophobia. They also note that nationalism can stimulate national conflicts and wars, as well as hinder international cooperation and dialogue. Currently, the world is witnessing the growth of nationalistic tendencies. At the same time, there are organizations and movements that oppose nationalism and support international cooperation and tolerance. They call for respect for different cultures and nationalities, as well as for building a global community based on equality and justice. In general, nationalism remains an important topic for public discussion and requires a deeper analysis and understanding of its role in the modern world.
