Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of the impact of globalization processes on the formation of an individual’s linguocultural identity in the contemporary world. Globalization is viewed as a complex, multifaceted, and contradictory phenomenon that exerts a significant influence on linguistic landscapes, intercultural communication, and the mechanisms of personal self-identification. The dual nature of globalization is emphasized: on the one hand, it expands communicative opportunities and promotes intercultural exchange and cognitive enrichment; on the other hand, it creates threats to the preservation of ethnic authenticity and contributes to the reduction of linguistic diversity. The aim of the study is to provide a comprehensive analysis of external and internal factors determining the formation of linguocultural identity within a globalized sociocultural space. Particular attention is paid to the role of global media, the education system, state language policy, migration processes, and the dominance of English as a global lingua franca. The article analyzes the phenomena of identity hybridization, code-switching, lexical borrowing, and the formation of creolized linguistic forms. It is concluded that globalization acts as a catalyst for the transformation of linguocultural identity, stimulating the emergence of hybrid forms of self-awareness while simultaneously highlighting the necessity of preserving local languages, cultural traditions, and ethnocultural values. The findings of the study may be applied in interdisciplinary research focused on cultural dynamics, language policy, and strategies of individual adaptation under conditions of intensifying globalization and deglobalization trends in contemporary society. This approach makes it possible to consider linguocultural identity as a key resource for social sustainability and cultural dialogue in an increasingly interconnected and rapidly changing world, as well as to regulate and guide its formation and development.
