Abstract. The analysis of the use of statistical methods in sociology is an important task for understanding social processes and phenomena. This paper examines the methods of statistics used in sociology and how they help researchers analyze and interpret social data.

The beginning of the work provides an overview of various statistical methods that are used in sociological research. This part of the work examines methods such as descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, as well as methods of statistical inference and others. A brief description is given for each method and it is explained how it can be used in sociology.

Further in the work, an analysis of specific studies where statistical methods were applied is presented. Examples of researchers’ work using various statistical methods are provided, along with descriptions of the research goals, samples, methodology, and obtained results. Examples of studies using each of the statistical methods are given, and the conclusions drawn by researchers based on the application of these methods are shown.

In the conclusion of the study, an overview of the main results and conclusions obtained during the analysis of the use of statistical methods in sociology is presented. Statistical methods allow for the analysis of large amounts of data and the identification of patterns and trends in social processes, which enables the formulation of objective and reliable conclusions. Statistical methods enable the identification of relationships and interactions between various social variables. The application of statistical methods helps to control for errors associated with the study of social phenomena. Statistical methods allow for the forecasting and modeling of social processes. The use of statistical methods enables the conduct of objective and scientifically grounded research in sociology.

Keywords: descriptive statistics; correlation analysis; statistical inference methods; Gauss-Laplace distribution; mode; mean value; standard deviation; variance; reliability interval
