Gender conflicts in the social network TikTok

Abstract. The article is devoted to a comprehensive study and description of gender collisions in the TikTok social network. The article discusses the features of such concepts as social network, gender, femininity, masculinity, gender roles. Particular attention is paid to disputes arising in social networks on the basis of agendernity and binary users. Based on the involvement of statistical data and the study of the problem, the author seeks to trace the process of collisions about gender fluidity.

The paper examines the influence of such demographic characteristics as gender on the amount of information disclosed by the user in the social network profile.

The features of visual self-representations of adolescents, ideas about the way of «playing gender» by their own and the opposite sex, their own preferences in the design of a gender-appropriate page on the TikTok site are considered. As a result of the content analysis, there were no noticeable signs of leveling gender differences. The results obtained allow us to make.
