Abstract. The article «Traditional Values of the Republic of Turkey: An Analysis of Legislation» is a study and analysis of the existing legislation in the Republic of Turkey aimed at protecting and supporting traditional values in society. The author conducts an analytical review of various legal documents, including the constitution, laws and regulations, in order to identify the degree of influence of traditional values on legislation. The Turkish constitution, which was adopted in 1982, includes provisions that reflect Kemalist principles such as secularism, republican democracy, and nationalism. Turkey’s legal system is constantly evolving and adapting to changing cultural norms and trends. In recent years, Turkey has carried out a number of legal reforms aimed at strengthening the protection of human rights, promoting gender equality and increasing transparency and accountability in government. A traditional value in Turkey is respect for elders, which is reflected in Turkish culture, customs and everyday life. Turkey’s characteristics reflect the transition from a rural, agricultural society to an urbanized, industrialized one. However, it can be said that there is a trend towards traditional Islamic culture with a collectivist orientation. The concept of honor is also deeply rooted in Turkish culture and has a noticeable effect on people’s behavior. In addition to these broad cultural values, Turkish law is also influenced by Turkey’s Ottoman heritage, which places a strong emphasis on tradition, history, and the importance of community and family. The article is intended for researchers, the academic community and other interested parties who are interested in the legal aspects of the preservation and development of traditional values in the Republic of Turkey. The analysis of legislation presented in the article can serve as a basis for future research and policy development in this area.
